Our social workers help identify any limitations, barriers, or safety issues that might delay service or prevent the best possible care. They coordinate Medicare, Medicaid and Veterans Healthcare with community resources and support, and they assist with long range planning, including advance care planning and directives.
Jodie Evans, LMSW – Jodie has lived in Austin with her husband and 2 daughters for over 10 years. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin and is licensed the the Texas State Board of Social Workers Examiners. Jodie has a medical background working with the Seton Family of Hospitals in the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit that included care of patients with mental health concerns, end of life and grief/loss counseling as well as other hospices.
Jodie also has extensive experience in child welfare that includes work with Child Protective Services and other licensed foster/adoptive agencies. Jodie brings a “strengths perspective” in understanding the death/dying process and family dynamics surrounding this. Jodie is passionate about her work with those on hospice and strives to be a positive advocate for not only the patient but the family caring for them as well.
